On Wednesday 3rd September, Norwich Pétanque Club played host to the WML Knockout and Plate Finals, with two fiercely competitive matches drawing in a lively crowd of spectators.

Final KO Match
The Wanderers (John Nooney, Derek & Linda Shoesmith, representing St Faiths Club) faced the Bobby Dazzlers (Nigel Sayer, Dean Wright, Paul Rudkin & John Monk, representing the Bob Carter Centre).
Both sides gave their all in a tense contest, keeping spectators gripped until the very last boule. In the end, the Bobby Dazzlers edged out the Wanderers with a 2–1 victory, securing the KO title. Unfortunately, the trophy was not available on the morning, but the team’s performance certainly sparkled as brightly as their name.

Plate Final
Meanwhile, the Plate Final saw an equally spirited match between the Bobcats (Sue Mitchell, Ellie Jay & Trish Hodgkinson) and Bob Carter North (Judith Brown, Anne & Pete Hardy).
Once again, the tie went all the way, finishing 2–1 in favour of Bob Carter North. Their win was marked by the presentation of the Plate Shield by Sharon Thorndyke – a proud moment for the team and their supporters.
A Great Morning of Pétanque
With St Faiths represented by the Wanderers, and the Bob Carter Centre fielding no fewer than three sides (Bobby Dazzlers, Bobcats & Bob Carter North), the morning was a fantastic showcase of the local pétanque scene.
Congratulations to all the finalists, and a big thank you to the players, supporters, and organisers who made the finals such a memorable event.
