Norwich Pétanque Club Set to Host Norfolk Shield & Plate Finals Once Again

Norwich Pétanque Club is delighted to once again be hosting the Norfolk Shield & Plate Finals, with four teams heading to The Cottage on Thursday 24th September for what promises to be a fantastic evening of competitive pétanque.

After hosting the finals last year, we’re pleased to welcome the competition back to Norwich – and this year’s Shield Final has a particularly interesting storyline, with two unbeaten teams from different divisions going head-to-head for the trophy.

🏆 Norfolk Shield Final

SF Wolves (Division 1)🆚Hethersett Vikings (Division 3)

The Shield Final brings together two teams who have yet to taste defeat this season.

SF Wolves arrive representing Division 1 with an unbeaten record, while Hethersett Vikings have enjoyed an equally impressive unbeaten campaign in Division 3.

Competing two divisions apart means the two sides haven’t crossed paths this season, making Thursday’s final their first meeting of the year. With both teams arriving unbeaten, something has to give – only one can leave finals night with their perfect record intact and the Shield in their hands.

Norfolk Plate Final

East Norfolk P.C. (Division 1)🆚Huntsman Foxes (Division 2)

The Plate Final also brings together teams from different divisions.

East Norfolk P.C., currently sitting 8th place in Division 1, will take on Huntsman Foxes, who currently occupy 5th place in Division 2.

League positions will count for little when the two sides meet at Norwich, with the Plate trophy coming down to one final night of pétanque.
