Members Pull Together for Club Tidy-Up
A fantastic amount of work was completed at Norwich Pétanque Club on Saturday 26th September, helping to improve both the terrain and the club’s storage areas.

The equipment store was completely cleaned out, with rubbish removed and all the boards checked, cleaned and returned to their proper places. Equipment was organised, while the chairs were checked and neatly stacked.
The boards at the front of the shed were also removed and replaced, although removing the red Norwich Pétanque Club sign proved particularly difficult. As well as being screwed into place, the sign had been superglued to the boards. Tom had to cut the backs from the screws before he, Derek and George carefully eased the sign away without damaging it.

Elsewhere, Norman’s terrain was weeded and raked, with rubbish cleared from around the sides and new strings fitted along one side. Overhanging branches near the lights were cut back on the main terrain, while Les repaired a loose bench seat. Derek also headed back to give the new panels a coat of preservative before the rain arrived.
Lesley and Sharon also spent time tidying Hedley’s office.

A huge thank you to Alan Crabtree, Tom Ralph, Mark Haistead, Lesley Munday, John Ward, Derek Thorndyke, Les Thornton, George McDougal, Brian Taylor, Nick Folkard and Sharon Thorndyke for giving up their time to help. Your hard work has made a real difference to the club.

Now that everything has been cleaned, tidied and organised, we kindly ask members to return anything they use to where they found it. This will help us keep the shed and terrain tidy and make things easier for everyone.
