Junior Coaching

Pétanque is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages and either socially with friends or more competitively up to regional, national and international levels. It's a low impact activity yet it also develops teamwork, concentration, tactics and strategy. The social side of the sport is another of its great benefits.

Being relatively inexpensive to take part in it's an inclusive sport in that regard as well as being accessible to those with reduced mobility. As long as you can hold and throw a boule you can play pétanque. The rules have also been adapted to include players who use wheelchairs or walking sticks for mobility.

There is a very clear and quick pathway for junior players to move up the pyramid of Pétanque in England and players with talent can quickly progress into regional and national teams and competitions.

Our club coach, Mark Bell, is a Pétanque England qualified coach. Mark has got his DBS, safeguarding & first aid certificates, copies of which can be supplied if needed.

Mark is running free coaching sessions for Juniors at our terrain at The Cottage PH in Thorpe St Andrew on alternate Sundays from 27th February 2022 until April, with sessions running between 14:00 - 17:30. Juniors of all ages from 5 - 17  and all skill levels are welcome. Never played before? That's OK too!

Please contact Mark to enquire and book so he can keep class numbers to an optimal level.

You can reach him at petanquemark@gmail.com or on 07860 348 470.
