Norwich Pétanque Club welcomed 21 Round Table members from Norwich, Harleston and North Walsham for an enjoyable evening on Monday 21st September.

Group of people stand on a petanque piste at dusk, facing off-frame, with picnic tables in the foreground and trees lit by lamps.

After learning the basics of how to throw the boules, the visitors watched a demonstration from Jason before splitting into teams of three and taking to the terrain for a couple of games.

It was not long before the competitive spirit emerged, with plenty of friendly rivalry between the teams. Several of the visitors said they would be interested in returning for another go, while the Harleston members were also pointed towards Diss Pétanque Club as a more local option.

The group rounded off their visit by staying for a meal at The Cottage.

A big thank you to Sharon, Derek, Cynthia, Lesley and Jason for helping to make the evening such an enjoyable introduction to pétanque.
