Yesterday (Sunday 7th September 2025) Norwich Pétanque Club held the second of our junior training sessions. While a few of our regular juniors were unable to attend, it was fantastic to welcome two new faces, giving us a lively group of eight juniors on the terrain.

Taking on feedback from our first session, the group was again split into two teams of four. Each session followed a structured format: starting with a skills workshop, moving into fun games designed to put those skills into practice, and finishing with a friendly match.

The sessions were led by our two coaching assistants, Sharon Thorndyke and Lesley Munday, with Club Coach Mark Bell on hand to guide and support throughout. Their teamwork ensured the juniors received plenty of encouragement, while keeping the focus on learning through play.

It was clear to see the progression already beginning to show, and most importantly, everyone had fun. We are also working with our juniors towards achieving their Petanque England White Skills Award – details about the award can be found here.
All eight juniors have signed up for the next session, and with possible spaces available, we may soon be welcoming even more new players into the fold. Keep an eye out for updates if your child would like to get involved!
