On Saturday 28th March 2026, Norwich Pétanque Club proudly hosted the Big C Pairs Tournament, bringing together 12 pairs for a fantastic day of pétanque in support of a great cause.

Despite the cold conditions, the weather stayed dry and the sun made a welcome appearance throughout the day—perfect for a competitive but enjoyable event. The matches were played in an excellent spirit, with players striking a great balance between friendly sportsmanship and competitive play.
A total of £200 was raised for Big C, a brilliant achievement and a testament to the generosity and support of everyone involved.
After a series of closely contested games, congratulations go to John Ward & David Riley, who claimed the title with an impressive performance.

Finishing as worthy runners-up were James Shreeve & Jallal Talbi, who also enjoyed a strong tournament.

It was a pleasure to welcome Kat Jarvis from Big C, who attended to present the trophies to the winners and help celebrate the success of the day.
A big thank you goes to Hedley Watts for running the competition smoothly on the day, and to Lesley Munday for organising the raffle, which played a key role in boosting the fundraising total.
Events like this highlight everything that’s great about the club—community spirit, friendly competition, and coming together to support important causes. Well done to everyone who took part and contributed!
