People play petanque on a gravel court surrounded by trees. Some watch, while others throw. Two wear hats, including a bright orange one.

Following the success of last month’s launch, Norwich Pétanque Club was delighted to host the second Monthly AgeUK Pétanque Session, with 14 participants taking part — most of them returning from July’s session.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as players reunited on the piste, sharing laughs, friendly competition, and plenty of good-natured banter. With many familiar faces, the games flowed quickly as everyone slipped straight back into the fun.

A special thank you goes to Derek Thorndyke for preparing the terrain to perfection, and to Judy Lovett, Sandra Frosdick, Bob Cole, Brian Taylor, and David Riley for their support throughout the afternoon. Their efforts ensured every player had the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed and engaging game of pétanque.

This series continues to show how pétanque is more than just a sport – it’s a fantastic way to stay active, connect with others, and simply enjoy a great afternoon in good company. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our next session.

📅 Next Session: Monday 14th September – bookings now open!

📝 To book your place, please fill out the form on the AgeUK Petanque Afternoon page or contact Sharon directly (details also on the page).
