EVENT ROUNDUP
ANDRÉ CONAN MELEE PAIRS
A fine Wednesday evening saw 18 competitors take part in this year's Andre Conan Melee Pairs. This is our only mid-week tournament and one that can only be competed for by players over 18 as we compete for bottles of wine.
Congratulations to Tony D'esposito (right in the picture) who was the overall winner by a considerable margin on +34, with Brian Taylor (centre) 2nd on +18 and Enzo Diprata (left) in 3rd place on +10.

Thanks to those players who have already returned their Quarter Final scorecards. Just a reminder that the remaining games need to be completed by 30th July so we can confirm the competitors for the Semi-final games.
The latest weekly scoresheet is attached to this newsletter. Although Tony Brenchley remains on top, the following positions have been changing every week and the gap has narrowed, with a number of players now providing a challenge for top spot. It only takes a couple of wins to make a real difference, so we look forward to some close competition over the coming weeks. The results are posted on the noticeboard at the terrain each week, so keep a lookout to see how you are doing.
MONTHLY SWEEPSTAKE DRAW
Many members may not be aware that the Club runs a monthly sweepstake draw, with a proportion of the proceeds going towards Club funds. The cost is £1 per month and the payout depends on the numbers taking part – the more members taking part, the higher the prize monies.
No vast fortunes are involved, with the winner taking around £10 at the moment, but the draw has contributed over £300 to Club funds over the years, so is a valuable addition to our income. Please consider taking part if you do not already – contact the Secretary (details below), or Colin Debbage on 01603 720990.
