NEXT TOURNAMENT
Our next tournament is the Norman Guest Charity Pairs on Saturday 24th September, raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Registration is 1pm for a 1.30pm start and we will be playing 4 timed games. All entry fees, plus the proceeds from the raffle (donated prizes welcome) go to the charity so we hope to see lots of you there on the day.
Gents Final: Will be Enzo Diprata v Brian Taylor.
Ladies Final: Will be Jackie Knowles v Lou D'Esposito
The Finals will be slightly delayed and we now hope to played both games on a Wednesday Clubnight in mid-October. We'll advise the date asap so that members can come and support on the day.
Information re the Winter League was recently sent out. If you are interested in playing, please let me know and I will try to put interested members in touch with one another to form teams.
EVENT ROUNDUP
Congratulations to Robert Cleaver who now has an unassailable lead in our Summer Melėe on +94 with just 2 games left to play. The full scoresheet will be published after the last game on Wednesday 28th September.
MONEY MELÉE
We had 22 members playing in the final Summer Money Melee at the end of August. Joint winners on +18 each were Robert Cleaver and Eric Whatling, winning £16.50 each.
We will be holding regular Money Melée events on the first Wednesday of every month throughout the winter, with the first game to take place on Wednesday 5th October. Registration from 7pm for a strict 7.30pm start to enable us to play two timed games. Come and have a go – remember, the more who take part the bigger the prize pot. A further full list of Money Melée dates and times will be confirmed in the next newsletter.
The usual Wednesday Clubnight continues on the remaining Wednesdays throughout the winter.
CLUB MEMBER SUCCESSES
Our Club members often take part in tournaments other than those organised by the Norwich Club and it is good to be able to report on some recent successes enjoyed by members playing in major competitions.
Kerry Kirkbride, Tony D'Esposito and Lou D'Esposito were recently selected to play for England in the Home Nations Championship held in Edinburgh, contributing to a convincing win for England in a 4-way contest against Scotland, Wales and Jersey.
Congratulations to Enzo Diprata and Robert Cleaver who took part in the Golden Boules Tournament at the British Sugar terrain, finishing as runners up in the event.

TERRAIN
The next time you are at the terrain you might notice that the shed is looking very clean and tidy. Many thanks to Eric Whatling and Kerry Kirkbride who did the bulk of the work with brooms and brushes to get rid of several years worth of dust, leaves and cobwebs!
Please help us to keep the shed in its nice clean state by storing equipment tidily and especially making sure that leaves are removed from the rakes before they are stowed away.
