CLUB LADIES & GENTS SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
We now have our Singles finalists.
The Gents game will be an all Italian match between Tony D'Esposito and Enzo Diprata.
The Ladies contest will be between Phyllis Johnson and Sue Bull.
Commiserations to the losing semi-finalists, particularly Jackie Knowles who had to withdraw from her game. The finals will be played on Wednesday 23rd September at 7pm before our final Melee game of the season.
SUMMER MELÉE
The top position in the Summer Melee couldn't be closer, with the last 2 weeks of the competition crucial in providing the final winner. Top 5 are:
Tony Brenchley +66
Ray Savage +66
Brian Taylor +45
Tony D'Esposito +44
Mick Wicks +42
The final Summer Melee game will be on Wednesday 23rd September. (The time might be a bit flexible as the Melee will be held after the Singles finals have been completed).
CLUBNIGHT
Don't forget that even though the Melee finishes at the end of the month Clubnight continues every Wednesday evening throughout the winter for those hardy souls who want to keep in practice for the Winter League or be ready for next season.
KO SHIELD & PLATE
Congratulations to both Diamonds and Reds, who made it through to the Semi Finals of the Plate competition this year, with Diamonds winning through to the Final to be played at the end of the month.
CHRISTMAS CRACKER TOURNAMENT
We have added an additional date to the tournament schedule, our Christmas Cracker Melee Pairs, which takes place on Sunday 27th December. Diary the date – it's a great way to blow away the post Christmas cobwebs!
WINTER LEAGUE
Details relating to the Winter League has been sent out to all those on email already, so just a reminder to get your team entries in to Glenn Harcourt (glenn.harcourt@ntlworld.com) by the closing date of 2nd October.
CLUB AGM
Please note that this is to take place on Thursday 12th November in the function room at the Cottage. Look out for the formal notice for this meeting to be sent out shortly.
TERRAIN MAINTENENCE
At this time of the year the terrain gets untidy very quickly because of falling leaves/twigs/acorns etc. Eric needs your help to keep the terrain clear of these on an ongoing basis, so PLEASE rake over any section of terrain that you use after each use.
There will be a designated terrain tidy morning on Friday 25th September from 9.30am so that the terrain can be prepared in advance of the Norman Guest Pairs tournament. Please turn up if you can.
