UPCOMING EVENTS
PRE-SEASON MEETING
This brief but important meeting takes place on Thursday 28th January at 8pm.
This is an informal meeting where all the fees for the following season are collected so please try to attend if you can.
We will be collecting:
Club and County membership fee - £20 for the 2016 season, (£15 for Seniors over 75yrs at 31/12/2016; £15 for those who are registered to non-Norwich Club teams).
Summer League Team registrations for the new season. (Please note that any person registered for a Norwich team is expected to be a Norwich Club member.)
Entries and food orders for the Quiz & Chilli Evening - £7 per person.
Bookings and Deposits for the Isle of Wight Tours weekend. (See below).
If you are unable to attend please ensure that your Team Captain has your membership fees to bring to the meeting. If you are not registered to a team please ensure that your fees get to either myself or Hedley Watts before the meeting.
If you are not currently playing in a team but would like to be, please contact me on 01603 701023.
Please make all cheques payable to Norwich Petanque Club.

Date: Thursday 10th March 2016.
Venue: The function room at The Cottage.
Start time: 7 pm sharp.
Teams: of 4 persons max please, at least one of which must be a Club member, but otherwise family and friends are very welcome to join us.
Cost: £7 per person. Team entries and food orders must be made in advance and returned to Heather Hubbard complete with payment (cheques only please). Entry form as attached to the December Cottage Pie.
Entries will be collected at the Pre-season meeting (28th Jan 2016), but later entries will be accepted up to 26th February.
We will also be holding a raffle, so please bring along anything suitable on the night.
We look forward to seeing lots of you there on the night for a bit of friendly competition!
PETANQUE WEEKEND TRIP
It is clear that that there is very little interest from members in either the trip to the Jersey Open in April or South Downs in July therefore the Club will not be organising trips for either of these.
However a number of people have confirmed an interest in the trip to the Isle of Wight taking place from Friday 14th to Monday 17th October. The Club is therefore going ahead with organising this trip and we will start to take bookings at the Pre-season meeting. Full cost is £185 per person and each booking will need to be accompanied by a £20 deposit. Further details are attached.
EVENT ROUNDUP
On a very cold and wet post-Christmas Sunday we were both surprised and pleased that 24 competitors turned up to play in our Christmas Cracker Tournament, (plus Len Ellis of course, contributing his skills to keeping things organised!). This was an excellent turnout given the conditions.
Many thanks to all the players who took part, most of whom are in the picture.
Our winner this year was Dave Smith from the Bressingham Club
David Rome from the Norwich Club was in 2nd place
Congratulations to Tony D'Esposito who won our January Winter Money Melee and Mark Bell who was in 2nd place. Our final 2 games take place on Wednesday 3rd February, 7pm and Wednesday 2nd March, 10am.
