Wednesday 25th June 2025 saw Norwich Pétanque Club welcome special guests from the Rouen and Koblenz twinning associations for a lively morning of sport, sunshine, and socialising.

In glorious weather, 22 visitors took to the pistes to enjoy a relaxed introduction to pétanque. What began as friendly competition soon turned spirited, with teams from both twinning groups getting stuck in and showing their competitive streak as the session progressed.

Following the games, the group headed into The Cottage pub to unwind over a well-earned drink and shared meal, rounding off a thoroughly enjoyable morning of community, competition, and camaraderie in true pétanque style.

Special thanks go to Lesley Munday and Sharon Thorndyke for organising and running the event, as well as to our dedicated Wednesday morning regulars—Ally, John, Bob, and the two Davids—whose support helped make the morning such a success.
If you’re part of a social group, club, or business looking for a fun and engaging team-building experience, why not try pétanque?
